I'm In!!!!!

So the deadline for notifying trainers for the Mustang Makeover had come and gone, and I'd heard nothing. I emailed the organizers to confirm that I hadn't been selected...about a week went by...still nothing. So I had pretty much given up on being a trainer for this year's event. Imagine my surprise when I checked my email inbox yesterday and was greeted and email from the Mustang Heritage Foundation that started with this:

2008 Extreme Mustang Makeover

Hello Trainers!

I'm not ashamed to admit that I actually jumped up and down I was so excited! This is such a great opportunity, and I'm honored to have been selected.

Now the planning begins... Since I board at the stables on post, I don't have the facilities available here to work with a wild one. So I'll be doing the first part of my mustang's training at my parents' place in TX. Luckily, Jace has leave around the time we're supposed to pick up the horse, so we were planning on going that direction anyway. The plan is to work with the horse in TX until he's able to handle the boarding facility, then haul him to NC until Sept. when we'll drive back to TX for the competition. Sound complicated enough?
